Thank You to the ECHO Cancer Foundation volunteers
Norwich, CT –
In June, we took time to congratulate, celebrate and thank the ECHO Cancer Foundation Volunteers at a brunch in their honor. During the last year, this amazing group of adults and young adults have donated more than 500 volunteer hours to patients and their families during their cancer treatment visits. Our Licensed Massage Therapists use their skills to ease the anxiety and discomfort of the cancer treatment, while our Beacon of Hope Volunteers provide hospitality and companionship to patients and their caregivers.
These Beacon of Hope Volunteers have become a mainstay in our services to patients.
Objectives of the ECHO Volunteer Program:
- Assist persons with cancer, their families and caregivers to obtain physical, emotional and spiritual support.
- Help patients, family and caregivers find their strength by making resources available to them.
- Team with other community organizations in providing cancer related services.
- Forge a volunteer network for cancer patients, survivors, family, friends and caregivers.
